APPLEJACK BITCHES!
Spoiler:
Nice episode this week. We got a song, continuity, history (kind of), a letter to the princess, new creatures, and plenty of new background ponies to ship and give stories to! To be honest though, the song was kinda meh for me. It may grow on me though. Good stuff, all around.

It fucking kills me to say this. Seriously. It pains me physically. I'm putting off typing it by typing a bunch other shit before it.
...I liked this episode.
I feel like I've betrayed myself.
...how the hell can I like an Applejack episode?
I feel so strange.
The flow of the episode was really well done, the song was pretty ok. This is a lot coming from me as I really don't like country. At all. There are a very few exceptions.
It was actually nice to see Babs.

Spoiler:
It was an okay episode.
Great to see so much by way of continuity referenced. Babs and Braeburn in particular were two characters it was good to see for a second time, but it was also very good to see the return and expansion of Granny Smith's past, even adding in friendships and "favourite cousins". Also good to see new colours and 'designs' for young, adult and elderly characters. Small continuity nod with Applejack; she was the first of the Mane 6 we saw as a filly way back in The Cutie-Mark Chronicles and now is also the first of the 6 we see as a foal. The song was catchy in tune, but otherwise it was a bit "meh". Definitely not the best of recent songs, I feel. Good to hear AJ having her own song, though.
It could've been better, as ever, but at least it added more continuity and development for the Apple family. I'd give it 5/10.

Spoiler:
Also, apparantly Season 1 Episode 1 was 8 years ago, so we have a bit more of a time frame to work with.

... So if its been 8 years since S1 the Crusaders have been looking for their CMs for 8 years give or take that would mean the crusaders would now be teenagers (assuming they were at least 5 years old [5 yo is avg age of kinder gardener] though my head canon puts them at around 7-10)

In the words of Applejack: The worst one we ever had. Seriously the low point of the series, not watching again.
Where'd you get the 8 year thing from? 100 moons is the only time they mentioned and that can mean pretty much anything

Yeah. Most people consider it to be a moon a month. Of course...if you count Each type of moon (waxing, waining, full and new), that would cut that number by 1/4. Or, just about 2 years. Huh. How coincidental on that timing.

On Earth, there is no reason to assume that on Equestria.

No matter what you pick it'll never make sense due to other things in the show.
Namely: Baby Cakes and CMC not aging.

You guys are overlooking the most obvious explanation, that Granny Smith is senile.
