Looks like FTP is only an extended trial version to 50. Plus options for players to choose what they want to pay for.

You will get some cartel coins for that plus the months that you have subbed to the game will also give you cartel coins when FTP launches.

Wow, they got really nit-picky with the F2P restrictions. It doesn't surprise me but some of them, like the gear restrictions, I was like "hah what?" You have to pay for the Ops and then pay to get authorization to wear the set gear (that's what I assume the "restricted purple loot" is). Milking that non-subscription fee!

Wonder if it includes purple mods. What if you were wearing purple stuff before the f2p launched? Unlock the gear piece by piece, or tier by tier.
They're kinda vague on the information...

I'm sure if you were wearing it before F2P you may get those pieces unlocked automatically, but as for the certain gear restrictions I would lean toward the more detailed and ridiculous.

Damn, this is the harshest FTP model I think I have ever seen. Most FTP games with a paid sub or store and not nearly this restrictive. Bioware really wants to shit on the FTP people until they fork over some dollars.

They already gave FTP players story content (which they poured the most money into). These restrictions could work well if a weekly warzone/operation pass only costs like 2$ a week, which can cost 8$ a month - cheaper than paying 15$. For gear restriction: can't say much about it until more detail,i see no problem with it if they price the license cheap.
And they didn't decide to make the game go Free-to-Play,they only expand a FTP option and keep the core as a sub based game.

Lol that pvp. Commado doing nothing in Denova and a massive fight at the data core in Voidstar. I have to say I have never fought anyone there ever.
'This Fall' is December included or is that Winter?

Good to see them gradually giving out more info.
Still... they didn't mention the exact limitation of f2p to warzones

Derp Well I checked to website before they updated that so that's why I didn't hear it there. Must've missed it being mentioned in the vid though.
Well guess I'm staying subscribed. Anything less than 2 warzones a day isn't enough for me.
And yes December 20 is still fall. They better not wait that long since I'm only subscribed till december 15 =p

Good to get more info on the Cartel system. That Carbonite Freezing Chamber is an interesting concept, although it seems very pointless; freezing your enemies helpless is one thing, yet freezing yourself for the enjoyment of your allies?
Interestingly, it seems more exclusive items such as crystals (orange in the vid; maybe finally +41 stats purple?) and speeders will be available, and it looks like a black version of the New Imperial Guard set for Marauders is coming out.
As for the F2P, it's interesting to see what it is that they're cutting out. They sure will be punishing those guys, I mean, only three playable species? Ouch. If you wanted to make a pureblood pure Sith and you can't afford a subscription for several months, then your perfect Sith might as well kiss the bucket.

The carbonite seems to be an alternate resting ability ( like the Mirialan and Chiss social abilities) Also they might keep the initial 30 days subscription meaning you can make the Sith.
And if they don't you only need to subscribe 1 month to make the character. Not like you need to keep being subscribed to play one of the locked races.

So, I just logged onto the PTR and was greeted with this. Sorry for the phone pic, but it wouldn't let me screen cap it.
They're REALLY gimping FTP people. Doesn't affect me, but sort of sucks for FTP peeps.

Thanks for notifying us of that.
The reduced cost for mod-ripping will come in very useful for my Sith Sorcerer - as Kallig's Countenance is easily the best mask available to the class, in my opinion, I am determined to keep it even through endgame, into which I will likely place the headgear Campaign armouring bought with BH comms and any Tionese/Columi/Rakata mods. Seems extreme, but I'd rather have that mask than any of the endgame variants (at least it isn't that of the Sith Assassin!).
The free respec is an interesting addition, but probably not one that I will make use of.
Increased valour points yay.
It seems that they're making sprint a buyable skill again for FPers, given that we get it now from level 1 - I remember that my first ever char had to buy the skill, and I'm pleased that that no longer applies. Early access to speeders is good, but the legacy perk kinda renders that moot for most players.
Minimum of 500 cartel coins, eh? Bit of a step-up from the complimentary 150 - 200 of this month's report, but very much welcome.
Seeing this makes me glad that I was never planning to wait for F2P before I started playing! Ouch.

So, I just played around on Taris for a bit on my PTR Consular. The Cartel Coin shop is a big orange button on the right side of your top bar where your inventory and such are. I didn't try to move it. It's a decent interface, anyway. You can buy XP boosts that give you 25% more on ALL activities (PvP, space, flashpoints, PvE) for three hours. It costs 120 coins.
They have a LOT of armor for sale. It all looked to be purple and completely modifiable. Some of it looked nice, too. There's a plethora of Yellow-Orange crystals. They look sweet. It's a fun time. If you don't have a character on the PTR, you might want to get one just to dick around with things for now. Plus, if you get to level 10, you get the First Line of Defense title.

I've seen people using that title in and around the Imperial fleet this last week. Interesting to know that it can apply to all characters and classes. I don't suppose you have any idea whether or not already established characters above L10 secure that title once 1.5 is released?
It would definitely be a better endgame title for a smuggler than "Republic Privateer", that's for Celestia-damn sure, although that definitely isn't my main incentive for asking.

I do not know. As far as I know, the only requirement to get the title for all of your characters in the live servers is to get a character to level 10 on the test server. If you manage to complete Chapter 1 with any character on the test server, you get the title The Cutting Edge for all of your characters.

Free respecs? Hell yes. Six quick bars! What to do with all that space? I feel bad for the F2Pers that they are getting this nitpicked, but anyone subscribing get some nice benefits.

6 quick bars...are you saying I can actually use my legacy abilities?
3 hours xp boost. Sounds nice I hardly ever do a single activity for a longer time.
But the free respecs are the best thing. No more random PvP talents in the main tree. Actually a reason to buy the in field respec.

pretty much was gonna say the same as others. Why 6 bars? and yay free respec. Also do we get increased xp or do they get decreased?
Edit: ...I bet that flying throne will sell for millions, and people will actually buy it. I really want that gun myself though =) (and maybe the new bikini depending on how nice it is compared to pink skirt)
