How are they going to work? Are the Manes going to name their characters after whomever of the Mane 6 they're named after? Same with Royal Guards?

What about us members? Do we have any specific policies to follow regarding naming our characters? Or, can we name them whatever we'd like to?

Whatever we decide, does anyone already have a particular name picked out they plan on using?

The Manes have to be named after their character; no one else is thus restricted

so the names that you should stay away from are:

Rainbow Dash

My plan is to reserve as many pony names as I can when I get in, and I'll post them on the forum for whoever wants them.

Rarity- Jedi Knight (Main)
Sweetie Belle- Jedi Counsellor
Trixie- Sith Inquisitor
Octavia- Smuggler
Carrot Top- Trooper

This means I have three slots left for names.

Oh what ever shall I do? I need to find three more ponies to name characters after, and to hoard names.

Well I know my main is surely going to be Deev (and having Factor as a legacy name).

As for other names I'll claim, I'm looking into Roseluck (Smuggler) and Soarin' (Trooper). Maybe I might claim more names, but these are the ones I've had in mind for a while.

Who accuses bronies of being pedophiles? That's ignorant. People will always try to hate on something.

However I could refrain from using the name if it is truly an issue with everypony.

Unfortunately, it's true, I know from experience. I don't mind you using the name, though. I just wanted you to be aware of the potential reaction.

To respond to the first post, here is an excerpt from the hierarchy FAQ.

That isn't the most direct answer but you get the idea. We can't stop you from naming yourself after a pony but we would like it if you avoided it just so the Manes can keep it organized.

No really, there are some haters that label us as pedophiles. Adult men enjoying a kid show is apparently equivalent of wanting small children. It makes no sense whatsoever considering shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Samurai Jack, and Symbiotic Titan are labeled as kid shows. No one can tell you how to name your character, except for the GMs, but just really consider it before you commit.

Getting back to names in general though, I am willing to reserve a few names for people if need be. These are the names that I currently plan on holding for myself. There are some more that I will want but I can't think of anymore at the moment.

Nightmaremoon (if Luna doesn't mind)

I've held the name Pedo Bear in other MMOs in the past, GMs never had an issue with it as far as I knew. Though the thought has crossed my mind, the media has inflated and exaggerated Pedo Bear several times before. Most internet users know it as a meme and a joke, nothing of any actual concern. I take responsibility for my own actions and names, but If it's an issue to the guild I'll scrap the idea. I still have other options.

Just to clarify on my earlier post, I was talking about names that Manes are selected to have, and not all pony names in general. We don't have a pony name monopoly just because we are officers of a pony guild.

I'd say that if you get a name, you get it. We're going to be competing against thousands of others for these names. I'm sure some jerks will take them just so bronies CAN'T have them.

Personally, I think i'm going to to be Dhuum'bah for my Consular.

I want to have my Chiss Imperial Agent be Chald'erp'ysvala. Or something along those lines.

Anything else, i'm not sure yet.

I'm not going to say what my names are going to be just in case of ninjas.

Since the legacy name has to be unique across all servers, I'm not risking that someone will take a name as common as "Pie." I'd have to rush through the first act to even have a chance at it, and I'm not going to water down the experience just to have a space in my name. I'll just use the name PinkiePie.

This depends on how long the first act lasts, as I have no idea I'm trying to not spoil my experience whatsoever, but why not make a separate character to rush through on so you can grab pie?
