heres how I would do it SPEC you'll lose a little dps but that 10% heal every 60 sec can come in handy

I'm a little worried about the loss of improved sundering strike. Armor reduction debuffs tend to be high threat and the loss of it would reduce early dps raid-wide and delay the increased damage on Guardian Strike. Additionally, using resolve for the heal means it can be on cooldown if you get disabled, which can be dangerous

in pve you wont get disabled that much in boss fights and thats also why in end game you run with and off tank if you do get stunned he will pick up the slack and 1 extra stack of sunder compared to 10% of your health is a hard pick but as a tank you'll more then be able to hold the agro with a taunt/force leap combo at the start of the fight. haven't seen the cooldown on sunder but it can't be too long I would 5 sec at tops wouldn't lose that much dps but I guess its all on personal preference I have trouble trusting my healers I like to have a back up plan when they go oom/die/fail in general.

I'm not too experienced with tanking or the Jedi Knight class (it is the only one that I haven't done reading on yet) so I am just making an overall statement. I think that Rydel's would be more efficient but more reliant on others as AJ said. AJ's is a great general tanking one and covers all the bases, but depending how the character is geared will determine whether or not it would be able to hold aggro effectively. As you two have already covered, it is a matter of preference and gear. I like them both!

I don't mind being reliant on others as a tank, I try to design my builds around raid tanking, where I always have a healer, plus lots of other support.

As do I but I like having a back up plan my main focus as a tank is to survive and hold aggro as long as im doing enough dps to hold aggro I'll look for ways to increase my survivability.

I also continually look for ways to improve my survivability. I also know that I rarely remember to use clickies like that
