I've been in a few online Star Wars communities, and all of them had a very lengthy quiz post in their forums. Rules were simple, ask a question, first person to answer it correctly got to ask the next one. It was always fun to see what people could come up with. Does that sound like a fun game for this community?

Edit: I have a very basic understanding of Star Wars but my original statement still stands. If it was lotr I would probably do better.

I know only a little of Star Wars trivia. As I've stated before, I'm here as a fan of Bioware, not Star Wars.

However, since this is the fourth post in and nobody else seems to actually want to start the game, I'll give it a shot.

Why are Sith lightsabers almost always red?

Also, I sincerely hope you guys don't cheat by looking it up on Wookiepedia.

I've heard a few reasons, Red is very symbolic, and Sith love symbolism, so most modern Sith follow suit to show Hey, I'm a Sith, I mean business! Or that Red crystals are attuned to the Dark Side, and enhance your Force Ability. Or like Luna said, Korriban had pretty much only red crystals.

Because George Lucas originally needed a different color to separate it from the blue of Obi-wan's lightsaber, and Red-Blue is a very strong contrast. This set a precident for Sith Lords to have red lightsabers that has been followed since.

Well the obvious answer is that Darth Vader started the trend, and every sith before and after him wanted to continue the trend. So you could say, that Vader is a Darth Hipster.

the sith used synthetic crystals to create their lightsabers when the crystals are forged they usually contain a red hue which is why the siths lightsabers are red the reason the Jedi's sabers are not red is because they disagree with the use of synthetic crystals to make lightsabers because the crystals are modified with the dark side of the force.
