The few things I can get from this vid is that it is not on rails, or at least does not seem to be, which in itself is a huge improvement. It is using base Pub/Imp fighters (likely to homogenise and do away with stat difference on Player ships).
The again I have not done Space Missions since I leveled Toughen about a year ago.

The piloting kinda looked similar to the style of gameplay found in space missions in Battlefront 2. Here's to hoping it's good. Good to see they are finally getting to this point though.

-Freeflight. -You get a choice of 3 fighter varieties for PvP: Heavy, Medium, Light. Maybe a few more for PvE, Including a bomber. -Each fighter/bomber has a different characteristics and damage capabilities. -There might be both a PvP and PvE aspects to this. There is definitely PvP.
and also the line: hyd.space_combat.pancake because why the fuck not.

So for all intents and purposes it looks like this will be exactly like Space Combat in Battlefront II, if I understand "Twitch Combat" correctly.
This is sounding more and more perfect with each passing revelation, and I am really super excited to see not only what it's like when released but also the potential that it has.
Can you imagine, for example, a raid or a flashpoint where one must dogfight in space and destroy critical aspects of warships before either fighting on a nearby space station or initiating some sort of planetary "investigation"?
Also it will be very interesting to see how many people "get" the combat and keep going with it instead of labelling it as "impure PvP" and slander it.

Haters gonna hate. I'm SO excited for this! It's less than two months away as well! At least for Subscribers...filthy f2p casuals have to wait until February. :p
This is the GREATEST FUCKING THING to happen to this game since launch. Finally, Bioware is getting their heads out of their asses and actually developing to the strength of their property. This is single handedly going to rocket their player base back up since it is actually something that; A) No other ground-based MMO (that I know of) currently has a freeform, dogfight style combat gamestyle; and B) IT LOOKS FUCKING AMAZING AND FUN AND IS WHAT WE WANT FROM STAR WARS GODDAMMIT.
Seriously, I am super excited for this. Please sweet baby black zombie jesus Bioware, do not fuck this up.

I hope it won't be like PvP: feel useless an lose 90% of the time until you get your PvP gear. But then again I'm just gonna play this from day 1 and get fully geared asap if I like it. And if I don't, I won't give a fuck about its balance anyways :p
It most likely is going to end up being like typical PvP, where you unlock new abilities and weapons, and just curbstomp anyone else that's not equivalent. Although, hopefully since it is dogfighting, and not necessarily tab target ground combat, the skill requirement may bridge the gear gap a little better and make it more fair. We will just have to see how it is. Since there are going to be different game modes, there may be matches that reward teamwork and strategy over hard gear advantage.
Either way, I will be playing day one, and I really hope it is not a catastrophic failure.
With the 2.5 improvements to the dummy I'll go back to parsing DPS more as it helps to streamline the process of analyzing and comparing parses. I got tired of all the trimming, uploading, and lack of execute factors. My main goals will be to benchmark Goopy in DF + SS, benchmark Smack in Assault (no Gunnery because the delayed COF procs screw with my APM), and try out some hybrid builds for Goopy. Also, the armor debuff removes the need for Flourish Shot in my rotation, happy day!

People still have not decided whether to use 1m or 1.5m as basis. And there is bitching that due to the Armour debuff Snipers will be even more op because they do not have to use a GCD every 45s. Cuz it's not like there is not going to be a Mando/Guardian around.
Also relics are still kinda whack. FR proc from both damage and heals (double proc) as does KD SA but now DF or UW SA. Meaning that if you take the self healing KD SA>DF SA. I will update the relics thread too.

People need to get the dick out of their asses about Slingers/Snipers. It's not like I have to use that Flourish Shot in an actual Ops fight, so why do I have to use it on the dummy? Also, I vote for 1mil just because 1.5mil is crap for CD lineup at the moment.
