| I'm sure most of you have heard of Protect IP today, but for those of you who haven't, it's a new bill in Congress which could directly affect all of the internet, massively, including ponies. | Just to help motivate all of you in participating in fighting against Protect IP and it's similar bills, if it were to pass Star Ponies wouldn't exist. In fact, no legitimate pony guilds may exist anywhere due to the restraints the bill would have on copyrighted material.

| Equestria Daily and YouTube would die, FaceBook, DeviantArt, and FurAffinity would all have to review every post before it goes up and ban fanworks. Twitter would probably have to shut down. No Fansite for anything could exist. Consequently a lot of fandoms would die out.
Considering this is the reaction the entertainment industry had to the Radio, the Cassette Tape, the CD, and the MP3, I'm pretty sure they don't know what's good for them. |

| Government just needs to give up on censorship on most things, especially the Internet. It is a world wide tool, entertainment item, and daily part of nearly everyone's life. I think bills like this fall under the "world police" category of the US. There have been bills like this one before to meet Capitol Hill and none of them have passed, so I don't see this one making it far either. It is important to stick on them so that a weaker, but still bad, bill doesn't pass in the future. |

| It really is quite ridiculous. I'm glad I live in Canada, but it would be a damn shame for this to happen to my southern neighbours. |

| Canada won't help you as much as you think.
If this goes through, sites like Equestria Daily will die, meaning you can't get to them either. |

| Yep, it will affect every site that is based in the USA. Seriously though, with the ridiculous amount of people that use the internet, there is no way that this will be able to pass. Unless people just are lazy and don't fight against it...which wouldn't surprise me. |
