Pony advent calendar.

it's that time of the year again. The beginning of December. And that calls for a calendar to count down to Christmas.

I'm aware that advent calendars isn't a global thing so here's a quick explanation:
It's a calendar that counts down the 24 days before Christmas from the beginning of December.

And since not everyone to get a hold of the Pony calendar, I've decided to post one post every day reviewing what was behind the hatch. ^_^

Let's begin with a look at the cover.

Is it just me or does Twilight look a little weird? Pardon?

And Rainbow Dash with a Santa hat? I'm sold. Muffins!?!

December 1.

There wasn't really much surprise today. They placed a window at day one so I could see it was Twilight from miles away...
But placing a Blind-bag figurine in the calendar was pretty nice. Too bad I already had both the normal and the special edition of this figure. Seeing how not too many fans have the figurines because of the fact that they're close to impossible to get in a store, I have to give this day a small bonus score. :3
However! It loses a little because of the removal of the surprise..

On a scale from 1 to 10, I think I have to bake this one:

There is a pony advent calender??? Why didn't I know about this? My mom just bought me the normal grocery store one. *pouts*

Watch it be some Norwegian store and the only way I can get it is off ebay for some 4 digit price.

It looks like it is a European only item. I found that you can get it from Amazon.de, as well as on E-Bay, which the seller has it with $20 shipping, not counting whatever the bid goes up to. I REALLY want to buy it, but I don't speak German to work my way through Amazon, and that $20 shipping plus the bid price when it ends may burn too deeply into my wallet.

God, do I want this though. Sad

I wish I could help everypony get a calendar, but it seems to have been selling too well. my local store Only got three left...

December 2.

Cardboard postcards. 1mm thick cardboard..
So far in the calendar this has got to be the biggest "wat" factor.

The three on the top seems to me to just be random stuff, so I won't bother with them right now.
The three on the bottom however;

1. Why is Twilight's the only one using her actual color?
2. Why isn't the cloud on my cutie-mark on the one that looks like my cutie-mark?
3. If it is my cutie-mark: Why are the color wrong?

Making them out of thin cardboard can be a good idea for little kids, since they mostly forget it or ruins it it won't cost as much as thicker cardboard. Making it very cost efficient.
For me who collects it however, it means I have to make sure it's safe on the shelf all the time.

But most of all: Wat!? I just can't find all the logic behind this...
It will anyway find a nice spot in my collection. ^_^ Even though I was hoping for something plastic..

This day loses a bit since they could have made one card for each mane but instead made two and a half.

I won't receive mine until mid-december, so I guess I'll have a crazy opening spree coming up.

If you really want WTF, amazon.de still carries the G3 Advent Calendar.
I think.
My knowledge of German is some cognates and about a dozen other words

I should have not corrected you and let you buy the G3 one when you went to buy yours. That would have been a nice Christmas 'surprise'. Razz

I really hope mine gets here with at least a few days left before Christmas. I really enjoy opening the slot each day and discovering what I get. Until then, I will be content with Dash's posts.

I caught it before I mentioned it.
I saw 2 versions. I ordered the FiM one and was wondering what the difference was and wishing I could read German.

Then I saw Rainbow Dash.
She always dresses in style, but is significantly less cool.

SHOES!!

I like the idea of having add-ons for previous days. Even though I didn't really see what it was at first..
HOWEVER! They don't fit very well... The tail and the front shoes are taking the space the hind shoes need.

There's not much more to say about this day. I like it, but it's too bad they don't fit..

This day I think I'll have to bake..

That is just pure awesome. You could always try them on one of the other figures when you get to those days and see if they work better.

A blue owl? For some reason I like it. :3
Now I have two owls in my collection.

I don't really know what to write about this day's little gift so I'll just skip everything and give a score.

December 5.

What is inside this magical box?
Is it filled with a book about pox?
If I drop it to the floor will it break?
Perhaps it's the head that I found in a lake?
The tension is driving me mad!
Perhaps it's filled with something bad.

Well, would you look at that. It's the head that I found! Very Happy

Seriously though. Its a present which can be opened. if you take off the lid it contains a small room in which you can hide stuff. Nothing spectacular really, but it could perhaps be used to give away something small. Like a tiny piece of chocolate.

The size is a bit too small for anything I can think of though. So it loses a little score on that.
On some places the green paint from the bow has gotten onto the present. And some places are missing some paint. Generally the edges.

When I opened it up it was a nice surprise. But now that I look at it closer it's not as good as I first though...

And WHY does it have the number 2 written on the inside?!?

I think I have to bake this day.

It quite sturdy and has a nice little heart in the center. Finally I can gather all my little ponies around a round table and plot my take-over of the world!

December 7.

I'm not gonna try to do something as I did yesterday. Mostly because I can't find a melody that fits a teacup. :<
I have to say I like the details on these. And they go with my new table. :3
Just too bad my camera can't get all the details into focus...
they come in two parts each. one cup and one plate. Unfortunately two of the plates are a little bent and look weird.

But finally I can have a tea party with my ponies. Very Happy

And at least there's no confusing numbers in these things. :>

And... I'm definitely going to the moon for this... But..
