I checked Facebook today, and SWTOR has made a new post. It's about making sure guilds are ready for Phase 3 of the prelaunch where servers will be assigned.

I log into the official page and what am I greeted with?



Hell. Yes.

We're good to go and i'm guessing that within the week we should have our server assigned to us. That's either going to make people step it up with Alliances/Rivals or wait to see who's on the server and go from there. It's an exciting time either way!

Phase 4: Waiting For The Game To Be Released

Phase 5: Downloading The Client Needed For Early Access

Phase 6: The Game Is Released Just Before You're Dragged Out Of The House For Some Last Minute Christmas Shopping Because The Family Has Been Too Lazy To Do So Until Now

Does anypony know if we have to choose all of our Allies/Adversaries before initiating deployment? I would guess that the answer is yes, but I could not find the answer on their site. Either way, I doubt very much that we will actually be told what server we're on until much closer to launch. It would make little sense to finalize servers before all the guilds have opted in.

Allies and Adversaries are optional, but can only be chosen before Phase 3, because Phase 3 is when they are actually putting the guilds onto their respective servers

The type of server is defined by the type of guild that is created. We are a PvE, US West guild.

I'd imagine that any allies adversaries would be put into the same servers. So I guess we will have to search our own server once it is announced to find any more, which may limit our options.

The main purpose of the Allies and Adversaries system is to be placed on servers with guilds that you would like to play with. Any alliances made in-game won't actually do anything. It is essentially a feature that BioWare has extended to the community that players may choose to use to help same-minded players band together during the guild server assignment phase.
