| I woke up today to find that the Scyfy (idk why they changed it to Y's) had a 007 marathon going and made me wonder why we haven't discussed it yet. Who's your favorite Bond actor and what's your favorite movie?
My favorite Bond has to be Sean Connery. I think Pierce Brosnan had a better Bond look, Daniel Craig had better acting, but you just can't replace Sean Connery.
As for my favorite movie that is more difficult. Goldeneye spawned one of the best shooters in history, but Diamonds are Forever is just an iconic Bond film. At the same time, Goldfinger had one of the best enemies (Oddjob) and Bond girls, but Casino Royale and Quantum Solace got back to the roots of Bond and provided great character development. Then Moonraker was just awesome, I love Jaws. I'm forced to go with Diamonds are Forever though, I just feel like I'm comfortable keeping that at the top of my list. |

| Pierce was my favorite bond for a long time. ...until Casino Royale came out. Daniel Craig just has the feel of the Bond from the books. He's scruffy, lives out of a suitcase and just doesn't stop. Also, he doesn't really need all the gadgets (though they are fun). My favorite Bond movie is still probably Goldeneye. Not only because of all the association with the game, but I thought it was a great way to bring a new Bond to the film going world. I totally dug how Brosnan never smoked, too. He thought it would be a bad example, so he didn't do it. I totally dug Moonraker, too. A lot of people trash it, but that's fine. Haters gonna hate. ~D |

| Ah bond, you reminded me that I've got some bond movies on Blu-Ray I need to get around to watching again. I remember when I got those, we all sat around our television and it was mum's first time seeing blu-ray. Dad's too I think. Mum couldn't get over the quality of the movie, kept saying it was like he could just step out of the tele and into the living room.
Favourite bond actor... I really can't pick just one. Primarily because other than Sean Connery I don't know any of the names of the bond actors. I really don't have a right to judge either since I'm not all that familiar with the movies. However I'd have to say Goldfinger is one of my favourite bond movies.
To be perfectly honest though, I've read more bond books than I've seen bond movies. Still, James Bond is awesome, I've been meaning to write a pony crossover with him. Need to track me down some of the old short stories that were originally published in Play Boy (Though I'd think I'd rather buy them in a trade than to hunt down the magazines) and study them in preparation for a crossover. |

| I do love myself some James Bond. I don't know if I could possibly pick a favorite actor though. I like Sean Connery (the manliest actor on the planet), Roger Moore, and Daniel Craig. Pierce Brosnan was good too, but he just got stuck with some of the worst scripts of the entire franchise. Goldeneye was really good, but the rest of them were terrible. I'm a big fan of the Daniel Craig films, they are certainly my favorites. Although I can definitely appreciate the somewhat silly nature of the classic Bond films, making the stories more gritty and real was just the kind of shot in the arm the franchise desperately needed. I've never read any of the books, though. For those of you who have, which ones would you recommend? |

| My favorites have always been Connery and Brosnan, more due to my experiences with them than anything else. My father was a Connery fan, so his Bond movies were the first ones I saw, and Brosnan's were the only ones I saw in theaters, which had a huge impact on how I thought of them (I didn't see the Daniel Craig Casino Royale in theaters and haven't seen Quantum of Solace at all)
On a related note, is there any reason that in the reboot they introduced Quantum instead of bringing back SPECTRE? I wanted to see Blofeld again. |

Idk, I think they are actually trying to attempt and go in the order of Fleming's novels for once. First Bond I had experience was Brosnan in Goldeneye, it definitely was a great start. My dad is a Connery fan too and gave me his entire VHS (yes VHS, I was about five when I did this) collection of Bond movies. I went through all of them including Moore's at least twice. Connery is definitely the iconic Bond, but I think Bronsan and Craig portray a more real and human Bond rather than an invincible womanizer. |
