first of all I want to say FUCK YOU DOOMBAH I WAS NOT GOING TO WATCH THIS UNTIL SATURADAY BUT YOU RUINED THAT PLAN but dont worry I still love you. onto the episode! SPITFIRE SPIFREI SPITFIRE SPITFIRE SPITFIRE SPITFIRE SPITFIRE AND HER CUTIE MARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN TOTALLY ACCEPT THIS CM at first I really thought this episode was going to make me hate spitfire but she totally turn out to be a total boss I really wasn't expecting her to be in the episode this much but yeah. This episode we also got to see some of my favorite S2 chars Thunderlane, Horsepower, and Cloudchaser and they brought back the OMG Dash ah why did they have to air this so close to Sleepless in Ponyville I...I'm conflicted Spitfire or Scootalove also did you guys see Horsepower biting the cloud and his YEAH!!!!!! well sorry Scoots but like always you love only lasts so long... BEST EPISODE EVER!
P.S. HOLYMOTHER OF CELESTIA THAT SPITFIRE IN THIS EPISODE

So Lightning Dust was basically what Rainbow Dash is like most of the time. I'll admit though that I enjoy me some RD characterization. This episode along with Sleepless is Ponyville have really made her more likable for me. Spitfire was awesome. Good lesson in this episode, it's ok to be awesome it's not ok to be a dick about it.
That was the lesson right? Whatever happened to those letters you girls were supposed to be writing anyway?
On the fan front expect to see a lot more RarityXThunderlane and Rainbow DashXLightning Dust shipping. Also got a few new background pegasi that I'm sure you'll see tumblrs and such made of.
Good episode, would watch again.

Awesome episode, which has been typical for Dash. I instantly began searching for Cloudchaser at the academy. Happy to see her return and the others from Hurricane Shy. Anyone notice how Pinkie's goodbye hug resembled the Fighting Is Magic's Pinkamina Finisher?? Also, I spotted a mistake ya'll should watch for. When Dash saved the other manes, she's naked, or out of uniform. COURTMARSHELD!!!
