| People finally ran all the numbers and turns out that Dread Power Buff relic + Dread Kinetic Proc is BiS if at least a 20% armor reduction is stacked on an enemy (really common for Ops runs). The difference between that and the War Hero Power relic was almost 48 DPS on just the proc relic alone. However, it was parsed with Merc/Commandos with the Armor Pen cell using Kinetic, so it is better for most classes to still use Elemental/Internal to avoid armor factors. http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/thread-1024-post-24331.html#pid24331http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=555367&page=7Just as a disclaimer, people are still running the numbers on other relics as well so BiS relic is up for debate, but it looks like any proc relic will out do the War Hero Power relic in terms of DPS.

| wasn't it mentioned in there that the test was with a mando who has armor piercing? Gunslinger doesn't have that aside from Illegal Mods so Kinetic might not be BiS for them. |

Gunslinger doesn't have that aside from Illegal Mods so Kinetic might not be BiS for them. I only paid attention to the armor pen debuff part, not the ammo cells, but if that make a large enough difference than use the Internal/Elemental ones like they suggest. I reread stuff and checked numbers and changed my mind to get the Internal one. DF may buff it, but I'll parse once I find out. |

^ This. Honestly, I will take a consistant 100+ power buff (on each relic) over a proc/usable buff anyday until proven otherwise. The healing proc is too random to be useful, as it could proc when you are just topping off a dps that is -1000 hp and is now wasted because they have full hp from your heal alone. And the usable buff is nice for "oh shit" moments, but it is short lived, and tanks take way too much constant damage to permanently take away a flat heal increase. |

I can't comment on the healing proc because of the exact reason you're talking about. If you are only healing the tank and no one else the proc may prove to be better. However, the proc is so random I can't see ever using it even if it is more healing because I can't control who it heals. For example, my Salvation hits 8 targets, but the proc will randomly apply to one of the 8. For all I know it will proc on the melee who is at 100% health anyway. +100 power to a useful heal is better than having wasted power factors on an uncontrollable heal. |

| Has anyone started comparing the Elite War Hero relics in 1.6? They have 120 power each. |

| Not to mention healing is chaotic enough as it is, it is much easier to just weave an activated relic into a DPS rotation to make sure that it is used on cd and thus give you better power over time ratio. While some fights have phases where you can predict when healing burst will be needed, mostly you are left stressing about healing up from mistakes made by other raiders or yourself. I do suppose I can use my spare dailies to get one activated relic and use it for certain fights but mostly keeping my WH relics.
Recovering from everyone under 30% on TFB phase 2 still the best healing I've done, brohoof Kaizu. |

| I'm not sure about the Elite War Hero as they're still on the PTS which number crunchers don't pay attention to the PTS because of possible changes. I think the proc relic + power buff will still benefit DPS more, but it definitely will be a closer margin. However, the Elite War Heroes will probably put the nail in the coffin about the healing proc debate. |

| Some important information (not confirmed but a 1900 DPS Sage results suggest this)
1) The procs use your Crit Multiplier
2) The procs use your Crit Rating... but...
The hilariously not released information is that:
Kinetic & Internal use Tech Crit % (troopers and scoundrels)
Energy & Elemental use Force Crit % (consulars and knights) |
