PostSubject: Commando dps (with parser)   Tue Jul 10, 2012 2:18 pm

I was bored and decided to randomly use the parser to check my DPS

Note: Reload is NOT in my rotation, not even for burst. I try to never use it so that it's available for 'oh shit healer died, I need to keep up my team' moments.
Those rarely happen outside of Toth+Zorn Champion Guy but it's always nice to have a backup.

Stats

Aim: 2008
Power: 638
Accuracy: 222 (98.18%)
Crit: 430 (40.90%)
Surge: 393 (78.34%)

Still need to finish replacing 93 Surge + Endurance with 70 Crit + 178(?) Accuracy.

Skill Tree

Torhead Thingy
Reserve Round can be replaced with Advance Tech. (45s CC is useful on Vorgath and random mobs though)
Quick Thinking with Cell Capacitor. (I only use Reload for when I start healing...which you should NEVER do without Quick Thinking anyways)

15s fight: ~1745 DPS

Who ever said commando are shit burst?
This is Soa and Kephess Walker burst since it starts combat with Plasma Grenade. Baradium Bomber would add 1.5 seconds to that reducing burst. I ended the fight with 4 ammo but both those fights give you time to get it back afterwards by spamming Hammer Shot + HIB anyways.

Note: Just now realised I forgot to use my adrenal :p

4m05 fight: 1401.7 DPS

Grav Round: ......................................27.88%
Full Auto: ..........................................23.71%
Demolition Round: .............................14.11%
High Impact Bolt: ...............................10.59%
Hammer Shot: .....................................9.54%
Plasma Grenade + Radiation Burns: ......8.32%
Mortar Volley: ......................................5.85%

On the day 1.2 launched I did the same and got 1200 DPS with 33% Full Auto and 30% Grav Round.

After all the buffs to Full Auto I somehow do more damage with Grav Round now Shocked
My hammer shot also got a 2% boost =p.

Rotation

0) Rhythm Augmentation Droid
1) Plasma Grenade + Reserved Powercell + Tech Override (every 2m once Plasma Grenade is off cd)
1) *Plasma Grenade (whenever it's off cd and you have 10+ ammo)
2) Demolition Round (2+ stacks of Grav vortex)
3) Full Auto (Curtain of Fire)
4) High Impact Bolt (whenever it's off cd and you don't have max ammo)
5) Mortar Volley (exception: when you need it in the fight for adds)
6) Grav Round
7) Hammer Shot (whenever your ammo is at 3 bars regen)

I drop below 8 ammo a lot but 1 hammer shot + the natural regen + a free HIB if it's off cd get me back up in no time.
If you're at full ammo for over 1/4th of the fight you're not doing it right.
If you ever drop below 3 ammo regen and your reload is on cd you're not doing it right either.

Note: I hate Elara. She kept shooting the training dummy even after combat ended forcing me to dismiss her and start all over again.

Double posting like a boss!

I suck at Assault dps. Feel free to add your parser numbers to this Kaizu (or any other Assault Spec commando)

Hmm sounds good, now compare it to Melee DPS Derped!

I know that in semi DPS gear I can get 1200-1400 in Balance (but can't keep up for long due to force) and 1200ish in Telekinetics (no problem with force) as a Sage.

It still kinda feels that Commandos could use a buff even if it does not seems so from the numbers. Assault is good in PvP as far as I can tell from the way Lyra plays.

Nice post, and yes, the Rhythm Augmentation Droid is a must for any rotation.

Time for an update!!!
Would appreciate if other people posted their numbers btw. I'd like to know where I stand in terms of damage.
Also been considering getting a new (waaaay better) laptop. Might wait until christmas though.

DPS: 1751.6

Duration: 358.34 (nearly 6m)

Total damage dealt: 617161 (making 1722.3 DPS but you have to not attack for ~5 seconds to end combat)

Full Auto: 220 002 - 35.65%
Grav Round: 173 883 - 28.17%
Demo Round: 86 633 - 14.04%
HIB: 67 495 - 10.94%
Hammer Shot: 31 194 - 5.05%
Mortar Volley: 31 013 - 5.03%
Radiation Burns: 4 497 - 0.73%
Plasma Grenade: 2 444 - 0.40%

I don't know what to say about this improvement. I was shocked when I saw the numbers =/
Hey at least I don't feel so bad about Amorphic hitting 1800 (or was it 2k?) DPS now Very Happy

Found out that Plasma Grenade without Reserve Powercell and Tech Override is kinda useless since it only does a little more damage than Grav Round but eats your ammo and doesn't proc Full Auto.
DPS with previous rotation of using Plasma: 1618.9 (including the 5 second wait at the end).
Dif is prob this big because I got (un)lucky on crits.

Stats:

Aim: 2142
Power: 738
Crit: 40.37%
Surge: 75.82%
Accuracy: 101.32%

Endurance: 1888

Note: Put 1 point into Weapon Calibrations (+2% alacrity) and 1 point into First Responder (50% chance for +6% alacrity on crits).
Proven to be better than 2 points into Calibrations.

Nice that, definitely in HM TFB territory which I would say is anything above 1600. Obviously in an actual op this will go down due to time spend relocating and generally 'playing the mechanics'. Was this parsed on Operations dummy? Also was your rotation the same as before or what was it now? Also what spec, the last 1 is not updated.

I was surprised to see that I got 1620 in TK and 1650 in Balance in healing optimised gear. But there are Sents, Slingers and Vanguards out there with 2k+ I am sure.

What I did like on TK were those 4.5k DPS bursts every minute (in a 300s fight)
Weaken Mind - Turbulence (auto crit with Weaken Mind) - Force Potency - Telekinetic Wave (instant due to proc from Disturbance which you spam in TK as it is your force regen) - Project - Telekinetic Throw (at 2x speed due to proc from crit Weaken Mind).

The only change in my rotation is only using Plasma Grenade every 1m30 (instant cast + no ammo cost) rather than every 30seconds.

As for burst damage: prob 2-2.5k during the 6 seconds of Plasma Grenade burns.

And well your healing optimised gear prob won't be that far off DPS optimised since as a sage you use alacrity for both.

In TfB you don't really have to move that much and if you do melee dps will have to move and not DPS as well.

Withering Horror: can pretty much stand still the entire fight unless it's your turn to move into the pool.
Dread Masters: ranged is fucked =p. Lots of moving.
Operator: data core to data core so melee can't DPS there either.
Kephess: barely any moving until the very last part
Terror: when you move melee can't DPS either

For TK there would not be too many changes in gear, just less alacrity and more power (especially with 4 piece). For balance I could lose some crit and most alacrity for power/surge. I would guess maybe 100 more dps for Balance and about 50 for TK.

Going above the +25% on surge is a complete waste on points though. More surge seems kinda pointless.
But yeah more power over alacrity on Balance.
