Hi there everypony! I'm Tobias in-game, though I haven't played since Early Access ended. I do remember that epic world-boss run! I'm going to start playing again soon hopefully, but I have a question for anyone playing the game using game time cards.

If you decide to play the game using time cards, are you still required to give a credit card number when you register? When I went to purchase a copy of SWTOR at EBgames (my preorder was cancelled by Gamestop...) the salesperson said that I'd still need to enter a credit card number to register, and I'm hoping he was wrong. I think that really defeats the purpose of the time cards if it's true: to allow people to play without inputting their credit card number.

I know you need a credit card/Paypal account to have your free 30 days for purchasing the game, but if you use a time card it won't matter. One of our other members is solely running on a time card right now, so you shouldn't need a credit card.

If it does need a credit card, you may be able to get around that by buying a Visa gift card, since those are technically credit cards as far as most systems are concerned. Use that for one month, then regular game cards for the rest.

Every other MMO I've played says it needs a credit card, but I've never used game cards to know how those factor in to things.

Purchasing a Visa Gift Card will be annoying, but thanks for the input. I'm glad I can still play, even though I may not get my free 30 day trial. Blah.

I use game time cards and didn't need to use anything Visa related.
