| What are your thoughts on the naming in TOR? Here's an interview with Damion Schubert where it's one of the few things he can talk about: Damion Schubert InterviewFirst letter caps only and no numbers? That's a good thing in my book. Well, sort of. I've had the Doombah moniker for 16 years but I don't know if I want that to be my characters name in game. I never used it in WoW and always chose (mostly) appropriate names: Tinuviel (NE Hunter), Kaiendorr (Originally a Belf Pally, but Human after I gave up on Horde), and my favorite...JesuCristo (Human Holy Priest). I'm trying to come up with a good variant on Doombah that will be said the same, but spelled in a more...I don't know, Star Wars way? Maybe Dhoom'ba? Dhum-Bah? Dhoom-Ba? So, what do you think? Are you going to go with something more traditionally SW or just use whatever you want? I realize the Manes are going to try and get their names ASAP, of course. ~D |

| I'm more worried about getting my name than the restrictions. The rules on naming are nice though, I hate seeing numbers fill appropriate letter spots. Pretty good interview though and it sounds like we can look forward to some cool small features that get glossed over in the larger announcements.
Here's hoping that everypony gets the name they desire! |

| I want to punch people who use alternating caps in their names. It is so annoying.
well i'm going to be creating a crap tonne of characters so the naming doesn't really bother me.
I will be so impressed if you actually get something as obvious as fluttershy. |

| No matter what game I'm in, I always have trouble with names. The real problem is that thye're permanent, and you'd have to wipe you whole character out if you suddenly think of a cooler name or title (just happened with my title. For the name implementation, isn't only first letter capitalization a little much? If I were RPing a little, I'd want to have a first name, a last name, and maybe a title or rank. I sort of understand the numbers banning, but I guess having clone name like Sigma-421 is too much to ask for.
I'm definetley going to have trouble with naming my character. As simple Poptard would do fine, but someone apparently took it already. Major Poptard would look weird as Major poptard or Majorpoptard. And I wanted to make an expy of an RP character I made, Paladin Hamilton Bacon, that'd be odd-looking too because of the captialization. Damnit, why is picking your own name so hard? |

| Only first letter caps and no spaces? List of names that won't work: Twilight Sparkle Rainbow Dash Pinkie Pie Vinyl Scratch Derpy Hooves Great and Powerful Trixie Nightmare Moon Frederick Horseshoepin
Also, Silver Spoon will look like Silver's Poon, which is horrible

| I wonder if there will be a randomizer like WoW had that will help people pick names. |

| Well that takes away Desert Bear, or Pedo Bear. I like having the spaces and a capital of the first letter of each word. Now I'll have to think of a single name. Glad there wont be numbers being used. I really don't want to see jedi203482 running around. A randomizer might have to do if they include one. Kotors had one that generated a star warsy name for you. I can't see Tor not include one. |
