I just thought I should post this in case somepony haven't heard.
At Friday 15:26 a massive bomb exploded in Norway's capital, Oslo. Several people were killed and many of our most important government buildings were destroyed.
Two hours later a person dressed as police arrived at a Norwegian youth-camp and told them they were safe now. When most of the youth came forth he opened fire and killed many of them. He then proceeded to hunt down the rest. It took almost 90 minutes for the government to react to the shooting since they were taking care of the bomb victims. Then a SWAT team were dispatched to deal with him.
After the worst day in Norwegian history since WW2. Almost 100 people were killed for no reason at all. The terrorist said that it was horrible but necessary to save Norway and western Europe from the political way we have now. He wanted to get one message to the people; "Norway is NOT to be colonized by Muslims."
Who cares what their religion are? Most of us don't see Muslims or any other people as different. We are ALL human beings! I don't think the means justify his actions in this case. Norway is a land of words. If something bothers you: SPEAK YOUR FRICKING MIND!! Only cowards use violence in these situations. Too scared to speak and meet resistance.
Even if most of Norway was unharmed this land will never be the same again. Norway is a small country where everyone is connected one way or another. So even if one is hit, it hits us all.
At 12:00 today (Monday) all of Scandinavia went completely silent for one minute to honor the dead. 6 hours later, at 18:00 every city and town in Norway and many in Denmark and Sweden laid down roses in the streets and at the churches. And we marched through the streets with our torches to mourn those we lost.
I can honestly say I have never heard a city be so quiet. It was like even nature itself stopped.
My thoughts and my tears go to those with losses. And I send my hopes to my mother's cousin who worked at one of the buildings that was hit the hardest. They still haven't found him...
None of the dead will be forgotten. This event will be forever remembered as a warning to the future.
For the first time in my life our national anthem actually means something. It is to remind us of our past and those we have lost over the years.

Great post Dash. I feel terrible knowing so many innocents died because of some maniac who thinks he is some kind of deity to "his people." I hope that you and all other Norwegians are doing well, and that you always have a friends across the ocean.

Like fluttershy, I am sad for what happened that day. I hope you and everyone else have started recovering in Norway. If there is something we can do, mention it.
Eventualy, the resolve norway gained that day might be used in some way..

Thanks Fluttershy and Luna. I really appreciate it. And yeah. We're all doing better than expected. We all know we have move on with our lives, no matter what happens. The rebuilding of the buildings have already started. And the terrorist have also already been in court. Didn't get a verdict though. And so far, all the relatives of those lost have sword NOT to seek revenge, and let the judges decide his fate. ^_^
