I've read and read, and followed all advice given and still my DPS is not where it should be. My DPS is topping out around 2600 on the test dummy, now that's with only my fortification buff, and nano-infused reflex stim.

I'm missing something and I don't know what it is.

My rotation is pretty simple:

Open w/ FA
hit relic
grav round till FA is ready
HiB when available, DR when energy is high and its available
EN whenever available

So I input all my info over at the character builder at Mr. Robot, maybe not perfect, but will give a good insight

I would sincerely appreciate any input in getting me straightened out. I just built a new PC specifically for playing this game. I know it's a different game, but in WoW I was always in top 2 or3 DPS in 16 man progression raids, and I can get mechanics down once I see them. This is driving me nuts trying to figure it out.

I know I need to get 4pc bonus and better relics, beyond that, I'm all ears.

Maximise Full Auto procs. Try using your non GR abilities while CoF is still on CD.
Are you using MV on cd as well?
An if you have the ammo: PG (possibly with the free and instant cd up)

The real question is: can you pull off that rotation in a real fight with moving involved?

edit: for your gear you want to switch surge with acc on 1 more enhancemant.
1% acc > 3% surge (3% extra dmg on 25% of your attacks < 1% boost in damage)

edit2: possibly get 1-2 more crit mods as well.

I was told, and have read in a couple of places that 0 crit was the goal. Is this wrong?

No ,not wrong but having ~50 crit doesn't hurt.

Consider using Sticky Grenade>Explosive Round while on the move and your energy cells is high. I like to rotate between those and hammer shots in these situations. Also, you could throw in a TO+GR or TO+RPC+PG so they can be used on the run

Replace these gears:
_Implants: The 2 implants you have are not good at 72s gear level ,even black market one will be better than those 2. I think you misunderstood when some of us mention the crafted implants/earpieces are good till you get Underworld. The crafted implants/earpieces that they talked about are Microfilament.  For example: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/49900/%5Bartifact%5D-microfilament-reflex-d-enhancer

_Relics: replace the Dread Guard one with an Arkanian/Underworld power proc relic will give you ~50+ dps.

_Enhancements: Replace all the endurance heavy enhancements (Proficient , Efficient) with the power heavy enhancement ( Initiative ,Adept) .

For future reference: when people mention full 72s , it doesn't mean that any 72s mods+enhancements will do , have to be power heavy mods and enhancements for dps .  1-2 endurance heavy 72 mods+enhancements or power heavy 69 mods+enhancements is acceptable though.

Your surge ratings and crits rating are fine , getting more won't give any dramatic change on your dps. I suspect the core problem lies with rotation/priority list.

Surge rating is quite low now , need to be at least 390.

Do you have the legacy buffs from companions? If not, try getting a melee tank to max for the 1% acc/
If you do, update the mrrobot page with it :p

I shed the one little bit if crit I added based on the BiS picture above and a bit of surge in order to get my accuracy where it needed to be after I got everything set up.

Any suggestions on what I should trade for some more surge? Which mod / enhancement I should replace?

I do not have the companion buffs, will fix asap.

And thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

Replace 1 initiative enhancement with 1 adept enhancement , you will get 1% more accuracy once you max out your companion's affections.
