My preorder story: Get friend to use his credit card, since I don't feel the need for one and they wouldn't let me use PayPal. Give friend cash.

My story's boring. Sad

Got mine at Gamestop. Only really interesting thing that happened was I had to come back to pick up my pre-order code, as they didn't have them available at the time when I initially ordered the bloody thing.

My pre-order story is simple: I went over to the Origin site and reserved the Digital Standard Edition. Got the pre-order code, put that in, and I'm set.

Gather round, ye fillies and colts, for a tale of adventure and defiance of nature. A story of a pony, too awesome to let nature stand in the way of epicness.

'Twas dark outside, as a churning mass of clouds obscured Celestia's normally brilliant sun. Strong winds tore through the streets and felled the trees that dared to stand tall in the face of the storm's power. Everypony cowered in fear in their homes, not daring to set foot outside, with one exception.

This pony, who went by the name of Streak, had a task to complete, nature be damned! A decision had been made the day before, and Streak was not very good at waiting. Out the window, the storm raged as the pony offered it an arrogant smirk in reply.

"Let's do this."

With bits in hoof and sunglasses on, the pony strode bravely outside, fighting an onslaught of wind to reach the vehicle which was strong enough to break through the storm. Streak jumped it, put the keys in the ignition, and put hoof to floor, leaving a trail of smoking rainbow tracks behind. The windows were open and the pony's mane whipped 'round in the wind, only causing the smile on Streak's face to widen. The stereo blasted appropriate music as the vehicle rocketed towards the game store:

The winds tried to prevent Streak from reaching the goal, but the pony shook a hoof towards the sky and slammed down on the gas hard, piercing the storm with the speeding, blue lightning bolt. It cried out in pain and frustration as the pony laughed defiantly into the dark.

Into the parking lot the vehicle skidded, and out jumped Streak, still grinning like a dragon with a rare jewel. The shopkeeper looked up, startled as the door slammed open.

"M...my Celestia! How could you be here?! I didn't think you'd make it..."

The pony simply walked over to the counter and slammed the bits down.

"Of course I made it. Who the hell do you think I am?"

At that moment, Streak's shades became 20% cooler and more pointy, and a cape appeared, flowing off of Streak's back on the gusts of an unseen wind. Lightning struck outside as epic music suddenly began playing out of nowhere. The pony struck a pose and pointed to the heavens.

"Nothing could stop me from being here, not even this blasted storm! Now put me down for the collector's edition, you glorious bastard!"

The shopkeeper pony nodded with tears in his eyes. He couldn't hold back the epic emotions he felt for this bad ass.

"N....nothing could make me happier. Y...you are SO AWESOME SO awesome! "

"Ha-HA! No need to make your face all smooshie for me, good shop-keep! Just make sure you keep that game warm and dry for me when it comes in. I'll be back for it, when the time has come and the stars have aligned correctly in the heavens, by Luna's grace."

Streak nodded once and turned sharply, subsequently flooring a nefarious thief that had been hiding in the shadows with a snap of the mane. The door opened and the cape flared out such that the awesome was too much for the simple shopkeeper to handle, so he exploded.

It was a good thing, then, that the heroic pony's aura had healing powers. As he came back to life, he caught a glimpse of the Pony of Legend driving off.

"R...rock on, pony. Rock....on."

The storm now bowed before its new master, creating a clear path back to Streak's home. A smile sprang to the pony's lips and the stereo responded by blasting a new song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKeMCXKSk5c

Streak sung along, Dashie-facing the whole way back SO awesome!

And that, my little ponies, is how you preorder a game.

*cough*

Ok fine...

I may have exaggerated a little (considering this area only got the very edge of the storm), but I can still say that I went out to order it in a hurricane.

Just took me a little bit to decide on the CE rather than the regular release. A car repair had me questioning it for a little. I broke down and got it today, figuring waiting too long might cause me to miss out.

I also found a FS Fluttershy yesterday, so I'm in a good mood.

I might as well tell mine too.

It was the first Saturday after it was announced.
I took one of my friends to the nearest GameStop which is 13 KM away from my home.
When we came to GameStop he went looking at other games as I got into line.
As I stood there and waited for my turn I started to get nervous for some reason.
I didn't understand why since I know the people that work there pretty well.
I guess I was nervous about not getting my beloved collectors edition..
Finally it was my turn.
I leaned on the counter and I said : " I'd like to pre-order Star Trek Online please."
it took a second before I realized what I had said.
I quickly said : "Star WARS Online."
I tried to get back into focus.
"The Old Republic! Star Wars : The old Republic."
It was a little embarrassing to pronounce it wrong three times..
"Collectors edition." It was the last thing I needed to say.
The lady behind the counter started typing stuff into the computer.
I gave her my name and such and payed the pre-order fee.
After that I got my receipt and me and my friend left.
He wanted to buy himself a new headset.
We walked for some time to get to the electric store.
The headsets at GameStop was crappy and pricy..

When we arrived he picked up a headset and asked me if I liked it.
I said "yes".
He then picked up another one and bought two.
He handed one of them to me and said happy late birthday.
I smiled and said thank you while I shook his hand.
We were too manly to hug in the middle of a parking lot anyway.
Then we went back to the cinema.
On our way back I remembered something.
I was supposed to get a pre-order code with my game.
We went passed the cinema and into GameStop again to complain.
A new person was working now.
I started explaining what I was supposed to get with my purchase.
He never understood what I said...
He has always been a idiot at his job anyway..
So I didn't get a code and we missed the last bus for that day.
We had to wait 2 hours for a train.

When I got back home i contacted GameStop on Faceboob.
I explained the situation.
I was told to contact my local store the following Monday to get more information.

Monday came and I went back.
Luckily this time my favourite seller was on duty.
He said he was sorry about what had happened.
he promised to contact me when they got more codes for the collectors edition.

Two weeks passed by.
I never heard from them again.
A friend of mine who works at SpaceWorld(Gamestop's biggest competition in Norway) contacted me.
He said they had been granted most of the CE codes for Norway.
So the day after i went to my local SpaceWorld.
Said I wanted to pre-order SW:TOR CE.
I got the code after less than 5 minutes.
A friend of mine came along that day.
We were going to see "The Green Lantern" at the local cinema.
We went back to gamestop and I demanded my pre-order money back.
They even struggled to do a simple thing like that....
The movie was great.
I got a ride back home.
I entered my code.
And finally I could sleep without nightmares.
Finally there was only peace.

Until I read about the Collectors Edition for "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
